Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter Specialist to join our team at Lucky Supermarkets. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for meeting daily production needs and quality standards in meat cutting and preparation. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, and price meat department products to meet customer demands and quality standards.
- Order and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen food products that pertain to the meat department.
- Package, prepare trays, weigh items to properly label, rotate product, and remove out-of-code date products to ensure proper inventory control and product rotation.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions about products and services, and cutting and trimming meat to size for display or as ordered by customers.
- Operate hand tools and power equipment, such as grinders, cubing machines, and power saws, to prepare meat for display and customer orders.
- High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or additional job experience.
- Prior meat department experience, including cutting of meat.
- Ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions.
- Ability to perform simple and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to maintain work pace appropriate to a given workload.
- Meat (to include primal cuts), poultry, fish, and pre-packaged products.
- Special product needs that arise for seasons/holidays.
- Trends in cooking and recipes that affect demand.
- Department food safety and hazardous materials rules/regulations.
- Use and care of professional cutlery, saws, tenderizers, grinders, wrapping equipment, and other department-related tools.
- Customer Focus.
- Quality/Quantity of Work.
- Personal/Interpersonal Skills.
The store environment requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds.
