Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician to perform nursing duties in the care and treatment of patients on an assigned unit. This role requires the use of tact and judgment in the care and treatment of patients, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform nursing duties in the care and treatment of patients on an assigned unit.
- Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
- Use available diagnostic results and other information to make an accurate evaluation.
- Apply knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases and use available resources in performing the nursing process.
- Perform timely, comprehensive, and accurate reevaluations and documentation at regular intervals as defined by the department.
- Contribute to an individualized and appropriate plan of care delineating measurable patient care goals.
- Collaborate with Care Manager, physician, and other clinical disciplines in planning interventions to meet resident and family needs.
- Minimum one (1) year clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to work in surroundings with degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort.
- Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend and stretch.
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time at desk to perform job functions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time at required patient bedside and/or procedural areas.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but potential for exposure.
