We are in search of an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to ensure that we maintain high-quality, efficient care for all patients. Our team is dedicated to supporting one another, and we are looking for a passionate individual who shares our commitment to patient care.
Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Advanced Clinical Pharmacist will concentrate on critical care and will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of clinical pharmacy programs to meet the needs of our patient population and community. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing medication orders and the quality of technician work to ensure appropriateness of prescribed drugs, dosages, routes, and potential interactions, making adjustments as necessary.
- Ensuring safe dispensing of medications in accordance with age-specific guidelines and adhering to sterile preparation procedures for IV admixtures as per USP 797 standards.
- Participating in the evaluation and analysis of clinical data, medication usage, and the development of drug monographs to support clinical toolkit initiatives.
- Overseeing pharmacy distribution activities, including order receipt, product storage, and controlled substance management.
- Monitoring narcotic transactions and ensuring compliance with all regulations regarding controlled substances.
- Assisting in addressing physician consults and providing timely, reliable drug information.
- Contributing to a patient-centered care culture by fostering a healing environment.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members in a respectful and empathetic manner.
- Accurately interpreting and implementing physician orders, consulting resources as needed for clarification.
- Graduation from a pharmacy college accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education.
- Possession of a BS or Pharm.D degree.
- Experience in an acute-care hospital setting or completion of a general pharmacy practice residency is preferred.
- Current Florida Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure. Board certification is required.
- Strong customer service skills, including effective listening.
- Critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
