Job Summary

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare professionals, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating patient care.
  • Assist with patient intake, including verifying patient information, obtaining medical history, and conducting vital signs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care, including communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and answering phone calls.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including updating medical history, medications, and test results.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a medical support or administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
