Key Responsibilities:
- Develop tailored educational plans in partnership with parents and team members.
- Facilitate learning for students with a broad spectrum of learning, emotional, and physical challenges.
- Create instructional strategies that align with the general education curriculum for both individual and small group settings.
- Collaborate with parents, administrators, and specialists to craft educational plans that foster students' academic, physical, and social growth.
- Prepare educational materials and organize classroom activities effectively.
- Act as the primary coordinator for the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with general education staff.
- Monitor and assess student progress, participating in the review and adjustment of IEPs as necessary.
- Maintain precise records of student performance and progress.
- Provide mentorship and support to teaching assistants working with students with disabilities.
- Assist students in transitioning between grades and developing essential life skills.
- Evaluate students' skills and educational requirements while tracking their performance.
- Engage in discussions regarding student progress with other educators.
- Foster positive relationships with students and their families through effective communication.
- Adhere to all relevant school district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification as mandated by local regulations.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an educational setting is preferred.
- Possession of relevant state teacher certifications.
- Commitment to professional standards and practices.
- Completion of necessary training programs as applicable.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language are essential.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
