Job Overview

As a Senior Financial Manager at Viking Masek Packaging Technologies, you will oversee and direct the financial operations of the organization, playing a pivotal role in our ongoing success. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all facets of financial operations.
  • Facilitate and guide weekly financial strategy meetings.
  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of Viking's financial reporting processes.
  • Proactively identify and address potential financial or operational challenges.
  • Supervise all financial functions including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Manage both short-term and long-term cash flow projections.
  • Maintain a continuous overview of Viking's financial status and anticipate future financial challenges.
  • Stay informed about current financial trends and practices to enhance team efficiency.
  • Exhibit a strong interest in improving workflow efficiencies and possess the autonomy to enhance this role.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, including relevant analyses to management regarding departmental and overall company performance.
  • Oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss reporting, payroll, tax preparation, and cash flow management.
  • Gather and analyze financial data for forecasting regarding profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
  • Manage tax planning and compliance with all relevant federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer in developing financial strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team on financial-related initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to identify trends or opportunities and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Design and uphold all financial policies and procedures, developing a comprehensive financial playbook with documented internal controls.
  • Partner with the business on special projects, including process improvements, system upgrades, due diligence, and acquisition efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of combined experience in accounting and finance.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience in consolidated financial reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create custom financial reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a solid technical background.

Work Schedule: Standard business hours with flexibility as needed to meet job demands. Occasional travel may be required.
