Position Overview

Specialty Dental Brands is seeking a dedicated and skilled Oral Surgery Assistant to enhance our patient care team. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and high-quality treatment to our patients. Our practice is expanding, and we are looking for a reliable, compassionate individual who is committed to excellence in their role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Availability for one Wednesday each month at our designated location.
  • Monitor patients under sedation to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Activate and manage all dental equipment prior to procedures.
  • Prepare necessary instruments and materials for patient appointments.
  • Escort patients to the treatment area promptly.
  • Provide comfort and reassurance to patients throughout their treatment experience.
  • Remain present in the treatment area to assist until the dental professional arrives.
  • Perform X-ray imaging as required, following case assessments.
  • Review and update patient medical histories as necessary.
  • Educate patients about their treatment plans and procedures.
  • Assist the dental professional during various treatments and procedures.
  • Accurately document clinical data and patient interactions in records.
  • Guide patients on post-treatment oral care instructions.
  • Collaborate with the Dental Treatment Coordinator to ensure efficient scheduling.
  • Maintain sterilization protocols for all dental instruments.
  • Restock operatories and sterilization areas as needed.
  • Communicate supply needs to the Lead Dental Assistant.
  • Participate in the upkeep of sterilization equipment and dental tools.
  • Utilize dental software proficiently.
  • Assist in training new staff members as directed.
  • Exhibit professionalism and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Adhere to work schedules and company policies consistently.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work assignments.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Availability for one Wednesday each month.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of patients and the dental team.
  • Willingness to perform related tasks as assigned by management.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
