Senior Accountant Opportunity at Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA)
Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to enhance our Corporate office operations. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional looking to advance their career. Standard working hours are from 8AM to 5PM, with the possibility of additional hours as needed to fulfill project requirements. Following the training phase, a hybrid work arrangement may be available.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Support the month-end closing process, which includes revenue recognition and analysis of project variances.
- Generate financial reports and analyses.
- Formulate revenue forecasts and predict expenditures.
- Examine financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, which includes:
- Management of fixed assets: accurately record and document newly acquired fixed assets, ensuring thorough data entry and adherence to GAAP and tax regulations.
- Lease accounting: manage the accounting for both operating and finance leases, ensuring accurate recording of lease liabilities, right-of-use assets, and related expenses, while ensuring compliance with lease accounting standards.
- Assist in the annual overhead audit process.
- Participate in the development of new or revised accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Process payroll through a third-party service (Paycor), including reconciliations and reporting.
- Perform additional accounting tasks and provide support to junior staff as needed.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage stress effectively.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Able to train and oversee staff members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
