Nursing Assistant Job Description

A compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant is sought to join our team at Mount Ascension. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in their daily duties, providing support with resident care and activities.
  • Respond to nurse call systems to determine resident needs and provide timely assistance.
  • Assist residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care, promoting dignity and respect.
  • Obtain food trays and assist residents with feeding, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Assist residents with range of motion exercises, movement to wheelchair or activity areas, and turning and positioning in bed.
  • Document services provided, maintaining accurate records and contributing to resident care planning.
  • Assist residents with ambulation for short distances within the facility, promoting mobility and independence.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts are essential, ensuring seamless care delivery.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Within 120 days of employment, complete a state-approved nursing assistant training program and become certified.
  • Six months of experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
