The role of a Registered Nurse in the 5West MedSurg Unit involves providing exceptional patient care through a structured process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Compensation Structure:
PRN - Tier Plan Available:
- Tier 1: Base rate based on experience, requiring 3 shifts within a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 2: $40/hr for 6 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 3: $45/hr for 12 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Tier 4: $50/hr for 18 shifts in a 6-week schedule.
Additionally, shift differentials apply for night and weekend shifts.
Unit Summary:
This newly established 15-bed unit functions as a MedSurg overflow, ensuring a Nurse to Patient Ratio of 5 to 1. The unit is supported by a unit secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), with both day and night shifts available.
Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is tasked with:
- Delivering direct and indirect patient care.
- Prescribing, delegating, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating patient education.
- Overseeing the activities of ancillary nursing personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills:
Must be a graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or an equivalent institution.
B. Experience:
Preferred candidates will have at least 1 year of RN experience in an acute hospital setting.
C. Licenses and Certifications:
Current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in Texas is required.
American Heart Association BLS certification must be obtained within two weeks of employment.
Work Type:
Per Diem As Needed
