Timmons Group is seeking a skilled Survey Instrument Operator to join our Survey Group in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of our field crew, you will assist Land Surveyors and Party Chiefs in collecting and processing survey data.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in field operations to gather data for boundary surveys, topographical surveys, and construction stakeout projects.
- Learn to operate total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors to collect and record survey data.
- Work under the guidance of a Party Chief on construction stakeout projects, including curb and gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, and structures.
- Perform daily maintenance and upkeep of survey instruments.
- Record clear and concise field notes, including sketches.
- Collaborate with team members and work in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months of survey experience or equivalent training/courses in surveying.
- Thorough understanding of standard survey procedures and instruments.
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs of equipment over various terrain.
Timmons Group offers an all-weather, year-round outdoor work environment with extreme heat index and wind-chill factors. Physical demands include hiking, climbing, and vegetation management.
