Healthcare Specialist

The California Department of Education is seeking a skilled Healthcare Specialist to provide specialized health care services to students, including medically fragile or profoundly disabled students.
The ideal candidate will administer first aid, dispense prescribed medication to students, including injections for diabetic students, and perform other health-related functions.
Maintaining health records and ordering health supplies are also essential responsibilities of this role.
Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure compliance with state reporting and documenting requirements.
This position reports to the Site Principal, under general supervision of the district's Registered Nurse and the Director of Special Projects.
Requirements:
- Job-related experience providing student health care in a special education classroom, a health office, or providing health care in a nursing facility, clinic, or hospital is required.
- Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school, including or supplemented by training in health care services and five years of increasingly responsible health care experience performing a wide variety of duties.
