Aerotek is seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Technician to join our team in a Contract-to-Hire position. As a Mechanical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the repair and replacement of components and equipment in our Workshop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the testing of mechanical products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Repair and Replacement of Parts: Assist with the repair and replacement of damaged or worn parts.
  • Equipment Inspection and Diagnosis: Assist with the operation and inspection of machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.
  • Heavy Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the dismantling and reassembly of heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Routine Maintenance: Assist with cleaning, lubrication, and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Examination of Parts: Assist with examining parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Technical Documentation: Assist with reading, understanding, and interpretation of operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Equipment Overhaul and Testing: Assist with the overhaul and test of machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Defective Equipment Diagnosis: Assist with the inspection, testing, and listening to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
  • Yard Operations: Assist with yard operations, such as loading and unloading.
  • Shop Equipment Operation: Operate shop equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and man-lifts, once trained, licensed, and/or certified.
  • Brake Adjustment and Relining: Assist with the adjustment and relining of brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
  • Engine Repair and Maintenance: Assist with repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems.
  • Welding and Cutting: Assist with the reviewing of layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a safe work environment by ensuring the group and self-follow established safety procedures.
  • Hazardous Waste Handling: Follow directions for handling and disposing of hazardous wastes, such as toner, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, auto parts cleaner, and similar materials.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering Theory: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering theory.
  • Schematics and Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Workshop Equipment Operation: Experience operating workshop equipment.
  • Test Instruments: Familiarity with test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Crane, Forklift, and Man-Lift Operation: Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, and man-lifts, once trained, licensed, and/or certified.
  • Micrometers and Gauges: Experience using micrometers and gauges.
  • Soft Skills: Strong punctuality, professional demeanor, respectful communication, safety awareness, and organizational skills.
