Job Overview
As an Artisan Bakery Specialist, you will engage in all tasks associated with the creation and baking of high-quality baked goods that align with Whole Foods Market's standards. This role is essential in fostering a positive image of the company by delivering friendly, efficient service to customers and fellow Team Members consistently. All responsibilities must be executed in line with established team and store procedures. Team Members are expected to be adaptable and ready to undertake duties from various roles within the store. Additionally, it is crucial to support Whole Foods Market's core values and objectives, promote various programs and initiatives, and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations, including food safety and departmental responsibilities.Key Responsibilities

• Accurately measures, mixes, and prepares ingredients following company recipes and specifications.
• Shapes, cuts, molds, and bakes dough to perfection.
• Monitors baking times and adjusts heat and humidity settings for optimal results.
• Evaluates finished products to ensure they meet Whole Foods Market's quality benchmarks.
• Completes temperature, cleaning, and sanitation logs as required.
• Punctually arrives at the workstation, well-groomed and ready for the day; fulfills all scheduled shifts and participates in necessary training and meetings.
• Delivers exceptional customer service, promptly addressing customer needs and employing suggestive selling techniques; answers calls and pages with courtesy.
• Enhances sales potential through effective procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Adheres to established protocols, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; ensures equipment is kept in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards.
• Completes opening, mid, and closing tasks as assigned; verifies accuracy of signage and pricing.
• Immediately reports any safety hazards or violations.
• Undertakes additional duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience Requirements

• 6-12 months of experience in a retail environment.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Standing/walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Engagement in bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
• Experience with varying temperatures: below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigeration), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Capability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
• May require the use of ladders.
