Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must possess a current state RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing institution. Additional qualifications include:

  • BLS for Healthcare Provider and ACLS upon hire
  • Two (2) years of recent Cath Lab experience required
  • Proficient in clinical nursing procedures, cardiovascular disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring strong cardiovascular clinical and assessment skills
  • Cross-training to all areas of the Heart Center is necessary
  • BSN preferred
  • Four (4) years of recent Cath Lab experience preferred
  • Experience in cardiovascular, critical care, or emergency nursing preferred

Department Overview

The RN will coordinate all patient care activities within the Heart Center Cath Lab. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of cardiology patients from admission through discharge or transfer. You will provide expert care and education to cardiology patients in a clinical setting, acting as a patient advocate, leader, mentor, and positive role model for support staff. A strong understanding of cardiovascular clinical nursing procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents is essential. You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment requiring robust cardiovascular clinical and assessment skills.
