Job Summary

MJ CARE INC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in providing exceptional educational services to children with exceptional educational needs. As a Speech Language Pathologist - Schools, you will be responsible for organizing, developing, and implementing a school-based speech-language pathology program that meets the unique needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans to address the specific needs of students.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' communication skills and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students' communication development.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students in educational environments.
  • Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide input on speech-language therapy goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and educators.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
  • 1+ year of experience in speech-language pathology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist - Schools will work in a variety of educational settings, including schools and clinics. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and use fine dexterity. The Speech Language Pathologist - Schools must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
