Research Physiologist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Physiologist to join our team at the University of Southern California. As an Assistant Professor of Research in Physiology and Neuroscience, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of acute ischemic stroke exacerbation and developing innovative therapeutic strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute in vivo animal model studies to elucidate the mechanistic basis for acute ischemic stroke exacerbation
- Develop and validate therapeutic targets for acute ischemic stroke using pharmacological approaches
- Evaluate post-stroke sensorimotor and neurological deficits in translational experimental models of stroke
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop new-drug discovery strategies
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology or a related field
- Extensive research experience in pharmacology, including in vivo animal model development and therapeutic target validation
- Expertise in translational experimental models of stroke, including filament and embolic mouse models
- Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals
