Process Metallurgist Specialist

Job Summary:
System One is seeking a highly skilled Process Metallurgist Engineer to join our team in Hubbard, Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will work under the Quality Manager to identify and resolve operational problems, and develop standard operating procedures to meet manufacturing and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee adherence to policies and procedures in the production process.
- Monitor all samples and determine metal specifications such as structure and composition.
- Maintain calibration certificates on all lab equipment and measurement devices.
- Provide training to quality technicians.
- Develop and revise Quality Standards.
- Participate in general process improvements and initiatives.
- Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO and AS systems.
- Perform gage R&R's and support the Measurement System Analysis (MSA) system.
- Conduct investigations and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Perform failure investigations on customer returns and claims.
- Maintain all metallurgical processes and prepare reports for investigations.
- Provide support to all manufacturing departments and assist in analyzing various materials.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by defining and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in melting operations with 2-5 years of process and procedures development.
- ISO Quality system experience.
- Metallurgical testing experience, including chemistry and sample preparation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Document control.
- Problem-solving and analysis, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and regression analysis.
- Collaboration and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong desire to succeed.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and Syteline experience a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level, and possess integrity and trust.
- Willingness and ability to work outside of normal work hours.
- Ability to travel regionally and nationally occasionally (10-25%).
