Job Title: Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our Software Development team at Safran Passenger Innovations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing innovative In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) products using state-of-the-art software design principles and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure using containerization technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless technologies.
  • Develop fault-tolerant and load-balanced infrastructure for applications running in Cloud, on-prem, and on resource-constrained embedded devices.
  • Architect and implement common software infrastructure to address cross-cutting concerns like authentication, authorization, encryption, data storage, exception handling, and logging.
  • Define an architectural blueprint for designing microservice-based architecture, including service-to-service communication patterns, service orchestration, and service versioning.
  • Develop performance benchmarks and analyze application performance for latency and design flaws, and implement performance-enhancing solutions.
  • Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot and debug issues reported by the testing team.
  • Provide realistic estimates, foster a culture of transparency, and meet agreed-upon commitments.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders, users, and customers on specifications, architecture, design, implementation, and approvals.
  • Actively participate in meetings and contribute to the development of internal tools to support development and troubleshooting of the infrastructure stack.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a Senior (or above) level role within Software Infrastructure.
  • 15+ years of overall software development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure to support PaaS and IaaS deployment of applications.
  • Experience in designing and implementing fault-tolerant and load-balanced infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, and/or serverless technologies.
  • Experience in defining guidelines and reference architecture for microservices-based applications.
  • Experience in designing and implementing applications and loosely coupled microservices in Node.js, React, TypeScript, C, C++, C#,.Net for ARM and x86 processors and in AWS Cloud.
