Position: Digital Forensic Engineer

Location: Fort Bragg, NC

Role Summary:

The Digital Forensic Engineer is responsible for the planning, execution, documentation, and maintenance of systems designed for the integration and testing of both proprietary and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components. This role requires a synthesis of client contractual obligations and technical requirements into comprehensive testing solutions that consider various constraints including technical feasibility, timelines, and budgetary limits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and establish functional and technical specifications and standards.
  • Address hardware/software interface challenges and define input/output parameters.
  • Ensure the integration of entire systems or subsystems.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations to derive requirements focused on testability.
  • Lead the creation and execution of detailed test plans, procedures, and schedules for systems and subsystems.
  • Coordinate testing activities with various programs and organizational units.
  • Analyze test outcomes and compile comprehensive evaluation reports to validate system performance.
  • Document discrepancies and conduct integration regression testing to confirm the effectiveness of software fixes.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Digital Forensics or a closely related field.
  • Possession of an Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Experience in Reverse Engineering, particularly in malware analysis.
  • Proficiency in Packet and Network Traffic Analysis.
  • Expertise in Memory Forensics.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Forensics.
  • Familiarity with Media Forensics, including hard drives, solid-state drives, mobile devices, and virtual machines.
  • Competence in Python programming and development.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in C programming and development.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of VMWare vSphere.
  • Background in software testing and technical documentation.

Note: This position requires on-site presence and adheres to a standard 5/40 work schedule.
