Job Overview:
The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering direct nursing services to patients within the Intensive Care Unit. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill medical and surgical patients.

The responsibilities of the Registered Nurse encompass performance enhancement initiatives, application of the nursing process in patient care, effective communication, adaptability, participation in quality improvement projects, and commitment to professional development.

Educational Requirements:
  • Minimum: Completion of a Registered Nurse Program
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, CCRN certification

Licensure/Certification:
Current RN license in Pennsylvania, Healthcare Provider CPR certification, ACLS certification within one year of employment, and Act 33/73 clearances.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum: Clinical rotation through nursing education program.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing and proficiency in arrhythmia interpretation.

Critical Care Experience:
Experience with advanced procedures such as IABP, IV insertion, ventilator management, ABG analysis, Swan Ganz catheterization, arterial line placement, post-operative cardiac care, and CRRT management, along with ACLS and PALS certifications.

Additional Requirements:
Participation in Comprehensive Crisis Management as per policy, involvement in the Rapid Response Team and Cardiac Arrest Team as assigned.
