Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Provisioning Specialist plays a crucial role in preparing and configuring new computing devices for client utilization. This position involves troubleshooting a diverse range of equipment, including computers (operating systems and components), networking devices, and peripherals such as keyboards, mice, monitors, printers, and docking stations. Attention to detail and adherence to established procedures are essential to meet both client and organizational standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provision and configure new computers, tailoring user profiles according to client specifications and organizational standards.
  • Troubleshoot various equipment, including computers, networking devices, and peripherals.
  • Install and resolve issues with third-party applications, including antivirus software and client-specific tools.
  • Address service requests related to user onboarding, offboarding, active directory management, printer setups, and remote connectivity support.
  • Implement endpoint encryption and understand its functionalities.
  • Manage media tracking and ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Acquire and install necessary software licenses.
  • Oversee inventory management, including shipping, receiving, and tracking.
  • Collaborate with vendors for troubleshooting and equipment returns.
  • Document interactions and time spent on tasks using the organization's IT service management system, adhering to defined processes.
  • Identify opportunities for new hardware or service upgrades and escalate them as needed.
  • Execute recommended fixes and updates while following best practices.
  • Create and maintain process documentation to ensure consistent execution of IT operations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to address issues promptly.
  • Ensure the security of client data in compliance with policies.
  • Report on key performance indicators and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support client emergencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

  • Document 100% of time worked in the IT service management system.
  • Maintain a client satisfaction rating of 98% or higher.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups on assigned tickets and provisions.
  • Meet deadlines for provisioning tasks and ticket resolutions.
  • Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Passion for technology, particularly in computer hardware.
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic troubleshooting functions.
  • Knowledge of Apple Mac OS.
  • Ability to manage Microsoft Active Directory functions.
  • Understanding of file security management and network drives.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and related services.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ethical work practices.
  • Team-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a compassionate approach.
  • Self-motivated and dependable.
  • U.S. Citizenship and a clean background check.

EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in IT or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the IT industry preferred.
  • Experience with managed service providers is a plus.
  • Relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) preferred.
  • Experience with desktop installation and configuration.
