About the Position

The Medical Assistant Laboratory Skills Trainer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by providing hands-on instruction, mentoring, and managing student progress in classroom, clinical practicum, simulation, and skills laboratory settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and be committed to delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Teach assigned classes using prescribed courses of study and instructional materials, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of medical assisting concepts and techniques.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students in laboratory and clinical settings, ensuring their safety and well-being while providing hands-on instruction and demonstrations.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student competency through return demonstrations and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Simulation and Scenarios: Manage simulation scenarios and evaluate student responses, helping them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Classroom and Laboratory Management: Maintain classroom and laboratory environments in good physical order, ensuring they are safe and conducive to learning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree or post-secondary education and experience meeting state and ABHES accreditation standards.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience, with teaching experience preferred.
  • Current certification, registration, or licensure as a Medical Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Medical Doctor (M.D.).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider-Instructor Certification through the American Heart Association.
