Job DescriptionJob Summary: As a Primary Care Medical Specialist at Sanitas Medical Center, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient primary healthcare services to our patients. You will report directly to the Medical Director regarding clinical issues and activities related to medical care delivery. You are expected to be familiar with the center's philosophy, goals, and objectives, working collaboratively to achieve them while adhering to all center policies, procedures, state, and federal regulations.
You will provide the full scope of primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance of patients within your field of training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
- Maintain a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
- Ensure continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the center's scope of practice and provider training.
- Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, videoconference, chat, or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their healthcare needs.
- Perform minor surgical procedures.
- Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered at the Medical Center.
- Review incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date, and follow-up in a timely manner.
- Adhere to established departmental and medical center policies, procedures, objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Participate in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs as needed (i.e., diabetes collaborative/health fairs); attend and participate in medical center meetings/departments meetings and other medical center functions as required by the Center.
- Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
- Assist in outside medical public relations functions. Train, mentor, and supervise students and clinical support staff, as appropriate. Supervise mid-level practitioners (physician assistants and nurse practitioners).
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and RequirementsSupervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education:
- Masters Degree from accredited Nursing/PA Program.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in urgent care or family practice setting.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid State Nurse Practitioner License or PA license.
- Current State D.E.A. Certificate.
- Certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies (ANCC or AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience.
Estimated Salary Range:$115,000 - $140,000 per annum based on location and experience.
