Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Analysis Lead/Manager to join our team at Engtal. In this role, you will lead a group of engineers responsible for the structural integrity and performance of rocket engine components. You will apply advanced structural analysis methods to ensure the safety, durability, and reliability of propulsion systems used in space launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of structural analysts and stress engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Manage Team Workload: Manage team workload, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of analysis results in support of design, development, and testing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (thermal, fluid, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure integrated, cross-functional solutions.
Structural Analysis
  • Finite Element Analysis: Perform and oversee detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for rocket engine components including combustion chambers, nozzles, turbopumps, and thrust chambers.
  • Static, Dynamic, and Thermal-Structural Analysis: Conduct static, dynamic, and thermal-structural analysis to evaluate stresses, strains, deformations, and failure modes under various load conditions (mechanical, thermal, vibration, shock, etc.).
  • Material Properties and Failure Criteria: Assess material properties, fatigue life, fracture mechanics, and failure criteria for high-performance aerospace components.
Project Management
  • Large-Scale Propulsion Programs: Lead structural analysis efforts in large-scale propulsion programs, ensuring the structural integrity of components through the entire lifecycle—from concept design to flight testing.
  • Project Scheduling and Resource Management: Develop project schedules, manage resources, and communicate progress to internal stakeholders and program management.
  • Methodology Development: Drive the development of new structural analysis methodologies and tools to optimize performance, weight, and cost.
Design Validation and Testing
  • Collaboration with Design and Test Engineers: Collaborate with design and test engineers to validate structural performance through testing and flight data.
  • Structural Test Requirements: Define structural test requirements, participate in test execution, and interpret results to ensure design compliance.
  • Design Improvements: Provide recommendations for design improvements based on analysis findings and test data.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in structural analysis, with a strong focus on aerospace propulsion systems.
  • Leadership and Project Management Skills: Proven track record in leading teams of engineers and managing large-scale projects.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in rocket engine structural analysis, including handling high-temperature, high-pressure environments.
