Mayo Clinic is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of medicine. We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology & Hematology department in Eau Claire, WI.
Role Summary
This role offers autonomy and a focus on hospital inpatient work, as well as acute oncology patient care needs in the outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to challenging and complex patients, excellent communication and assessment skills, as well as the ability to balance treatment with symptom management and psychosocial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and radiologic exams
- Diagnose, treat, and manage chemotherapy side effects and medical co-morbidities
- Manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease, and oncologic diseases and therapy
- Collaborate with consultant Oncologists, Ambulatory Pharmacists, and fellow Advanced Practice Practitioners
- Consults and referrals to physicians and other members of the healthcare team
Requirements
- Masters/Doctorate prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program (NP)
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice (PA)
- Eligible for DEA registration
Salary Estimate: $140,000 per year
