About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our team at Just Kids Dental. As an EDDA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dental care to children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough dental cleanings for pediatric patients, ensuring their oral health and comfort.
  • Take digital X-rays and maintain accurate patient records, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Assist dentists during dental procedures, following 4-handed dentistry principles and upholding the highest standard of care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and instruments for dental procedures, maintaining a clean and safe operatory environment.
  • Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients and their caregivers on proper oral hygiene, promoting a positive patient experience.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with the dental team to deliver exceptional patient care and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe operatory environment, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed, contributing to the efficient operation of the hygiene department.
  • Keep the hygiene area well stocked and organized, ensuring a smooth workflow and minimizing downtime.
  • Occasionally assist the front desk with patient scheduling, providing excellent customer service and ensuring seamless communication.
Requirements
  • Louisiana State Board of Dentistry EDDA certification, demonstrating expertise in pediatric dental care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, dentists, and the dental team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities, ensuring accurate patient records and efficient workflow.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, prioritizing patient care and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to compassionate patient care, upholding the values of Just Kids Dental and promoting a positive patient experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 Year or more of dental assisting experience, with a focus on pediatric dental care.
  • Pediatric dental experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with patients and families.
  • X-Ray Certification, demonstrating expertise in radiography and patient safety.
  • BLS/CPR certification, ensuring the highest standard of patient care and emergency response.
