Job Overview

Position & Department

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Trainee) is responsible for performing maintenance on aircraft components, including inspection, testing, repair, and overhaul, in accordance with customer specifications and the condition of the components. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as needed.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your primary duties will include:

  • Adhering to safe work practices at all times
  • Complying with all relevant regulatory agency requirements (OSHA, EPA, FAA, etc.)
  • Meeting or exceeding productivity and efficiency standards in operations
  • Promoting Continuous Improvement initiatives, including LEAN and 6S methodologies
  • Conducting maintenance repairs and overhauls on designated components
  • Executing cleaning tasks for assigned components
  • Completing inspection tasks for assigned components
  • Carrying out testing requirements for assigned components
  • Communicating and researching issues that cannot be resolved within assigned areas
  • Maintaining cleanliness in assigned work and testing areas
  • Verifying unit performance through test runs
  • Assisting in the training and development of Senior Technicians and fellow Technicians
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED, with a technical school certificate (A&P License) or equivalent experience preferred
  • The ability to read and understand technical documentation
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending English
