Job Overview

Good Harvest Market, a leading independent natural grocery store, is seeking a dedicated full-time Produce Stocker Clerk. This position involves not only stocking but also contributing to our fresh cut fruit initiative, ensuring that our customers have access to prepared and packaged cut fruits on the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently stock, wash, bundle, and trim produce while adhering to departmental procedures and management expectations.
  • Maintain the produce wet rack in optimal condition.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of produce, particularly organic options, and assist customers with information regarding selection and preparation.
  • Manage sample products on the sales floor, ensuring proper rotation and disposal as necessary.
  • Handle culls according to established departmental guidelines.
  • Organize back-stock areas to meet departmental standards.
  • Assist in the opening and closing of the department as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in produce stocking.
  • Flexible availability for retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, typically 4+ hours.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Physical Environment:

  • Regular walking, reaching, and bending.
  • Frequent squatting, climbing, and lifting activities.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, including working in refrigerated units and outdoor conditions.
