Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor at construction projects, including material handling and storage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, ensuring all tools and equipment are secured and hazards are eliminated.
  • Load and unload trucks, and haul and hoist materials as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and incident reporting procedures, and report any issues to the Project Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a background check without any concerning issues.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instruction.
  • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in commercial and interior projects.
  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.

Physical Demands

  • This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and risk of vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
