Job Summary

The California State University is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in the Liberal Studies Department. The department is responsible for educating students in elementary education and related fields.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in community-based field experience, storytelling, children's literature, constitutional issues in American education, introduction to the visual and performing arts, and application to the K-8 education.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus teaching experience in the K-8 classroom and interest in teacher preparation.
  • Master's Degree and five years K-8 teaching experience in public schools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a community-based field experience setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and implementation.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
