POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief County Surveyor operates under general supervision, overseeing the County's surveying operations, land development processes, and map maintenance activities. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with state and local surveying regulations and standards.
The Chief County Surveyor leads a team of surveyors and technical staff, reporting directly to senior engineering management. Responsibilities include managing surveying projects, conducting boundary surveys, and maintaining accurate records.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong background in land surveying, with comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Proven leadership skills, capable of managing diverse teams effectively.
- Strategic planning abilities to set and achieve long-term objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.

EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, surveying, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of four years in professional surveying or civil engineering, including supervisory experience.
LICENSE: A valid professional land surveyor or civil engineer license is required.
