Job Summary:

The Laboratory Assistant plays a vital role in the clinical laboratory, responsible for processing clinical specimens, assessing their quality, and preparing them for analysis. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and distribute lab specimens, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to the appropriate areas.
  • Assess specimens for quality and appropriateness, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal results.
  • Prepare samples for loading on analyzers, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Medical experience, preferably in a laboratory setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer applications, including MS Office, EMR, and internet applications
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
