The 7th and 8th Grade Religion Educator plays a crucial role in fostering a nurturing educational environment that promotes positive learning experiences centered around the Catholic faith. This position involves collaboration with fellow educators, administrators, and staff to advance the institution's mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement lessons and activities aligned with educational standards.
2. Create and maintain weekly lesson plans that adhere to curriculum requirements.
3. Deliver engaging and interactive instructional programs tailored for Middle School students.
4. Uphold high professional standards that reflect the mission of the Diocese of Orlando and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
5. Ensure the safety and active supervision of students at all times while managing the classroom effectively.
6. Evaluate and document student progress consistently.
7. Execute lesson plans using strategies that motivate, challenge, and engage learners.
8. Communicate professionally and empathetically with parents regarding student progress.
9. Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and opportunities for professional growth.
10. Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and administration to enhance educational outcomes.
11. Integrate technology into the classroom effectively.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Theology and/or Education from an accredited institution.
2. A current Florida Teaching Certificate is preferred.
3. Previous teaching experience is advantageous.
4. A deep appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings are essential.
