Job Title: Advanced Child Protection Practitioner

Job Summary:

This role involves receiving and assessing reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people. The successful candidate will undertake investigations, develop plans to ensure the safety and stability of children, and promote the achievement of case plan objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in critical assessment and reflection, including risk assessment and analysis, case management, and reporting.
  • Engage with children, their families, and support networks, and collaborate with other practitioners and services.
  • Deliver results through problem-solving, making informed practice decisions, and managing budgets to achieve best outcomes.
  • Provide practice leadership to families and stakeholders, and lead and develop colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit or visa.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including in country regions.
  • Ability to work additional hours, including evenings and early mornings, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture and legislative, policy, and practice requirements.
  • Experience in child protection practice, including investigations and case management.
