We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Operations Manager to join our team at RaceTrac. As a Store Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitability and leading a team of up to 45 employees.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Establish a positive and efficient customer service environment, ensuring prompt and courteous interactions with guests.
  • Lead and direct positive relationships with co-workers, direct reports, guests, and vendors.
  • Communicate respectfully and maintain a consistent team-oriented attitude and store culture.
  • Manage and mitigate guest concerns with a sense of urgency, involving regional team members as needed.
  • Efficiently complete guest transactions and suggest products that complement purchases.

Food Service

  • Drive excellence in food service by executing designed processes, implementing sales and margin goals, ensuring product quality, and utilizing training resources.
  • Ensure all food offers are available, and preparation areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained.

Store Maintenance

  • Encourage and manage a high standard of store cleanliness.
  • Direct, monitor, and adhere to all safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations.
  • Execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand.

Talent Development

  • Demonstrate RaceTrac's Core Values of Honesty, Efficiency, Positive Attitude, Respect, and Teamwork.

  • Lead the coaching, training, and assessment of direct reports while adhering to operational standards.

Business Operations

  • Strategically direct control of inventory and the distribution of materials, merchandise, and supplies.
  • Review financial statements, sales, analysis reports, and other performance data to measure productivity.
  • Actively identify areas of operational improvements based on market trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure efficient and correct deliveries.
  • Ensure communication is passed to every team member in the store.
  • Use company-provided tools to coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing store team.
  • Ensure all risk management issues are in compliance with company standards.
  • Create or approve management and associate schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, while considering team member availability, payroll, and overtime costs.
  • Own staffing in store by providing timely feedback on interviews to the recruiting team.
  • Engage in the hiring of all store associates; develop managers to understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Write, implement, and monitor manager development and performance plans.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed in regards to hiring, promotions, and separations.
  • Ensure all team members follow policies and company standards at all times.
  • Ensure all team members have correct valid licenses as required by state or local laws.
  • Have a complete understanding of budget and cost trends that impact operations; proactively work to drive sales and overall financial health of the store.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed.
  • 5+ years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience; retail management experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working in high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environments preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in analyzing overall financial performance of the store, including profit and loss statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing best practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job.
  • Must obtain and maintain Manager Food Handler certification.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain an alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements.
