Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurse to join our team at Della Infotech. As a key member of our Perianesthesia department, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with endoscopic examinations and perform gastric manometer testing
- Coordinate the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient readiness for surgery
- Comprehensively review and assess patient status related to planned surgery, including physical parameters, lab values, medications, and pre-, intra-, and post-op learning needs
- Consult with Surgeon, Anesthesia, and other providers as needed to resolve identified patient issues in a timely manner
- Prevent avoidable surgery cancellations and begin interdisciplinary discharge planning process, including patient and caregivers in planning
- Perform EKGs as ordered and manage care of patient, including pain control, during anesthesia recovery
- Manage patients undergoing moderate sedation, including medication administration, monitoring, routine and emergency airway management
- Identify and interpret cardiac rhythms and be proficient in use of cardio-respiratory monitoring equipment
- Assess patients, as appropriate to the scope of care the nurse will provide, including physical, psychosocial, learning needs and barriers, needs related to age/culture, and discharge planning
- Establish nursing diagnoses based on results of assessments and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Plan care according to identified diagnoses and needs, updating the plan of care as appropriate
- Implement individualized care, based on nursing care plan and the nurse's role with the patient, which may include assisting with activities of daily living, medication administration, skin assessment/wound care, pain management, and operation/manipulation of biomedical and other patient care and testing equipment
- Assist the physician and other licensed, independent practitioners with invasive and non-invasive procedures
- Teach patients and their families about current illness, medical tests, medication, general healthcare, illness and disease prevention, and wellness promotion
- Provide appropriate assignment, supervision, and direction to unlicensed assistive personnel in order to ensure optimum patient care
- Provide interdisciplinary coordination and facilitation of overall care and document patient assessments, interventions, care, and teaching in the electronic medical record
- PACU or ICU experience is required
- Recent (within past 5 years) acute care hospital experience is required
- Profile Requirements: Resume, Skills checklist (within 1 year), Certifications, License, COVID card/status

- Must be willing to obtain
- Weekend schedule to be determined by facility
- 4-6 shifts/weekdays 10 hours, weekends 12 hours
