Key Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients under the direct supervision of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Accurately deliver and record radiation therapy treatments, ensuring precision and accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume.
  • Enter and maintain patient treatment parameters into electronic medical records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Participate in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining patient appointment schedules and submitting correct billing information, ensuring seamless administrative processes.
  • Cut blocks and make custom molds as required, demonstrating attention to detail and precision.
  • Interpret computerized treatment plans, applying critical thinking and analytical skills to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Valid state license for radiation therapy.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and occasionally standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting. The employee must be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in all interactions.
