Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to lead our estimating team in developing, managing, and executing estimating activities for large and complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage estimating plans and procedures to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
- Lead a team of estimators in preparing and delivering estimates, including scope requirements and estimated costs.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of estimating deliverables, ensuring they meet company policies and quality control standards.
- Utilize knowledge of resource skill sets and durations to prepare and deliver estimates.
- Review contract documents to determine reasonableness of estimated cost and verify that all risk and contingencies have been appropriately applied.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 12 years of related work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Clear understanding of construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with project controls software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Primavera scheduling software, and Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role.
- Advanced degree in management or related field.
- Familiarity with labor and trade work practices and union requirements.
- Familiarity with joint venture interactions and procedures.
