Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to lead our estimating team in developing, managing, and executing estimating activities for large and complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage estimating plans and procedures to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  • Lead a team of estimators in preparing and delivering estimates, including scope requirements and estimated costs.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of estimating deliverables, ensuring they meet company policies and quality control standards.
  • Utilize knowledge of resource skill sets and durations to prepare and deliver estimates.
  • Review contract documents to determine reasonableness of estimated cost and verify that all risk and contingencies have been appropriately applied.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 12 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clear understanding of construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with project controls software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Primavera scheduling software, and Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced degree in management or related field.
  • Familiarity with labor and trade work practices and union requirements.
  • Familiarity with joint venture interactions and procedures.
