Job Summary

The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at the Montana Public Health Laboratory. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in disease detection, surveillance, and prevention for the State of Montana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing for infectious agents to support the work of the Montana Public Health Laboratory, including serology, bacteriology, mycology/parasitology, mycobacteriology, molecular, and next-generation sequencing.
  • Conduct newborn screening testing to detect metabolic abnormalities in infants.
  • Provide technical consultation to public health and clinical partners regarding test methodologies, proper collection and handling of specimens, and accurate interpretation and correlation of test results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical lab science or comparable science discipline.
  • One year of experience in a CLIA-approved clinical laboratory certified for performing high complexity testing.
  • Current Montana State CLS License or eligibility to attain a license.
  • MT(ASCP) or other nationally recognized registry.
