The role of the Travel Nurse RN involves providing high-quality patient care across various medical settings. This position is essential for supporting healthcare facilities in meeting their staffing needs.
Certification Requirements- Mandatory Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year; first-time travelers are welcome
- Patient Demographics: Care for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
- Skills and Environment: Experience in mixed MS/Tele and Intermediate care, including neuro, respiratory, cardiac, and general medical patients. Proficiency in titrating cardiac drips and telemonitoring is required. Assignments may vary between all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a combination based on patient acuity and staffing levels.
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-5; note that this unit maintains a high staffing ratio
- Technology Utilized: Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
- Uniform Requirements: Navy Blue scrubs
- Time Off: Maximum of 7 days
- Floating Policy: Yes, within the facility
- On-Call Requirements: None
- Compliance Standards: Full compliance is necessary to ensure timely start; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to orientation schedules.
- Weekend Duties: Every other weekend required
