Geochemist Position

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities: As a Geochemist, you will be responsible for conducting environmental site assessments, analyzing geochemical data, developing qualitative and quantitative models, and preparing technical reports. You will also assist with on-site investigations, including observing drilling and monitoring well installation, classifying soil and bedrock samples, and collecting samples for field screening and laboratory analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's degree in geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, or a related field, along with 6 or more years of practical experience in the geochemistry field. You should also have specific knowledge of low-temperature systems, environmental geochemistry, and the weathering zone, as well as experience with building and interpreting thermodynamic equilibrium geochemical models. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are also essential.

Work Arrangement: This position may be based out of Barr's Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, Michigan; Duluth, Hibbing and Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jefferson City, Missouri; Salt Lake City, Utah; or Denver, Colorado offices. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position.
