Senior Librarian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Librarian to join our team at the Chinn Park Regional Library. As a key member of the Makerspace and Public Services team, you will be responsible for providing outstanding library experiences to our diverse and busy community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run the day-to-day operations of the Chinn Park Makerspace
• Plan and deliver makerspace programming and outreach for the community
• Assist patrons with library services, including reference, circulation, readers advisory, and working with digital devices
• Plan and deliver training in relationships to new equipment and makerspace tools
• Supervise direct reports and participate in the hiring process
• Manage progressive disciplinary process and provide staff training and development

Requirements:

• Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited college/university
• At least one year of library systems experience
• Experience supervising professional and paraprofessional staff
• Experience planning and implementing programming and outreach
• Experience working in a public services library
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with collection maintenance
• Experience with library system software such as Polaris

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt position located at Chinn Park Regional Library. The schedule includes days, at least one evening a week, and rotating weekends. Work hours are generally Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Thursday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sundays, 12:00 am to 5:00 pm. The schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.
