Mortgage Loan Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented mortgage broker to join our well-established lending team at Motto Mortgage Driven. The successful applicant will have 3 years of experience with mortgage lending or origination and a proven track record of making matches between various lenders and borrowers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build referral relationships with real estate professionals and maintain current lending rate sheets.
  • Obtain documentation to determine creditworthiness, including background checks, credit history, income and employment verification, and verification of assets and liabilities.
  • Find ideal mortgage products and lenders for potential borrowers by researching competitive mortgage rates and interest rates and negotiating terms.
  • Collaborate with real estate agents, lenders' underwriting departments, and closing agents to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Determine each applicant's or borrower's specific lending or refinance needs after conducting thorough interviews.
Requirements:
  • Superior time management, communication, and analysis skills.
  • A current NMLS license or National Association of Mortgage Broker licensure or certification.
  • A strong understanding of loan products and the loan process from origination to close.
  • Previous experience with MS Office and loan origination software.
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, banking, finance, or real estate law is preferred.
