About the Role:

The Customer Relationship Specialist at Umpqua Bank plays a vital role in helping clients achieve financial well-being through deep customer relationships and a thoughtful understanding of their needs. This position requires a strong ability to identify deposit, credit, and investment solutions to help customers achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and Develop Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients through active market profiling, needs-based questioning, and providing personalized financial solutions.
  • Provide Financial Wellness Reviews: Conduct quality financial wellness reviews to identify customer needs, make recommendations, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Originate Loans and Financial Products: Originate simple to complex consumer lending, small business loans, and cash management solutions, such as treasury management and merchant services.
  • Cross-Sell Bank Services: Recognize opportunities to cross-sell other bank services and refer customers to other departments as appropriate.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Bank Security.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of banking and/or sales experience, with a focus on developing customer relationships and achieving sales goals.
  • Skills: Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques, basic understanding of personal finances and budgeting, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Additional Requirements: Must have access to reliable transportation to facilitate travel outside of the branches, and be authorized to act as a Bank MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator) in accordance with the SAFE Act requirements.
