Nutrition Services Team Member Job Description

The Ankeny Community School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nutrition Services Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will play a vital role in promoting a culture of health and wellness in our district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and nutritious food options to support student learning and well-being
  • Support the nutrition services team in achieving expectations outlined in the position job schedule, Acts of PRIDE, Operational Guidelines, USDA Guidelines, and Iowa Food Code
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your Team Leader and/or Manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read basic operating instructions
  • Demonstrates a reasonable degree of computer proficiency
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Food service experience of at least one year
  • Hospitality industry cooking experience (schools, healthcare, restaurant, catering)

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing, and walking. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment. This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform position functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization's services.

Terms of Employment:

Work year established by the Superintendent; Salary according to schedule adopted annually.

Job performance will be evaluated annually, as per district policies and procedures.
