Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Body Repair Technician to join our team at TAG Auto Group. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various tasks to restore vehicles to their original condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble vehicles to assist estimators with repair planning and ensure all needed repairs are identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
  • Plan your workflow to maximize efficiency performing all repair operations listed on a repair order.
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical components, door parts, and trim to gain access to damaged areas of vehicles and store taken parts to minimize potential damage.
  • Repair damaged body parts by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts, ensuring all gaps and fitment meet industry standards.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including welders, torches, hammers, dollies, wrenches, sanders, etc.
  • Use body filler to fill minor depressions and repair areas.
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels, grills, re-bolt or weld replacement parts in position, and reassemble after parts are painted, ensuring all gaps and fitment meet industry standards.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with sandpaper before delivering the vehicle to the paint department.
  • Aim headlamps accurately.
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance with quality standards and ensure the vehicle operates safely.
  • Assist estimators in assessing damage to vehicles prior to repair.
Requirements:
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
