The Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, focusing on the assessment and management of critically ill pediatric patients. This position requires a dedicated professional who is committed to delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients and collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive care.
  • Design, execute, and document nursing interventions tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
  • Assess patient requirements and prioritize care through systematic planning and evaluation.
  • Formulate and coordinate personalized care plans for patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes.
  • Implement therapeutic nursing practices and oversee patient management effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with established care standards and clinical priorities.
  • Champion evidence-based practices and support the integration of innovative care methodologies.
  • Deliver patient-centered care consistent with professional nursing standards.
  • Adapt to various units as necessary, providing support in different capacities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric nursing, with at least 2 years in a PICU setting.
  • Current certifications in BLS (AHA) and PALS are mandatory.
  • Ability to transition between units as required, including adult care areas.
  • Strong proficiency in English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Educational Background:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is essential.
  • Active licensure from the New Jersey State Board of Nursing is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) certification is required.
  • Current RN License in New Jersey or Compact License is necessary.
  • PALS (AHA) certification is required.
