Automation Systems Specialist

The Automation Technician will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical and automation subsystems within the production facility at Michael Foods, Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical and automation systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using advanced network troubleshooting techniques
- Work with internal and external resources to resolve issues and implement process improvements
- Provide technical leadership and support to electrical and instrumentation technicians
- Develop and maintain user manuals and training documentation
- Identify and facilitate process and automation improvements
- Two-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Five years of strong industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred)
- Experience in mechanical systems and pneumatics helpful
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as electrical schematics, safety rules, and operating instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
The Automation Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing priorities and working with a diverse group of people. The role requires the ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Language SkillsThe ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with management, vendors, peers, and production personnel.
