Construction Instructor

Windham School District is seeking a qualified Construction Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing adult incarcerated students in the technical and soft skills needed to gain entry-level employment in the construction industry.

• Plan and direct learning activities of adult incarcerated students
• Follow the Windham School District curriculum guide for the area of assignment
• Participate in district staff development programs as required
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings
• Participate in all evaluations and self-studies as required by the Texas Education Agency and contracting agency

• High School Diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED equivalent
• Five years full-time, wage-earning experience within the past ten years in a construction field
• Thirty semester hours from an accredited college, university, or technical school may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis with a maximum substitution of four years

The successful candidate will be required to work in a classroom setting and may be required to supervise teacher aides. The work environment will be fast-paced and may require frequent interruptions.
